Here at BSN SPORTS, we take our neighborhood partnerships very seriously. It is our goal to “make you the hero on and off the field.” Getting involved in charity events is one way our company likes to go about this.
This year, one of our Dallas-Fort Worth Territory Managers, Jaclyn Rhoads, brought the Team Jack Foundation to our attention. The foundation’s focus is to fund research for pediatric brain cancer and create awareness for the disease.
The next local event for this foundation will be hosted by one of Jaclyn’s former high school classmates, Rex Burkhead. Rex is a “former Nebraska Cornhusker, Cincinnati Bengal, and now New England Patriot.” Rex attended Plano Senior High and here at BSN SPORTS, we have 5 Plano Senior High graduates who are excited for this event!
BSN SPORTS was happy to make a donation for the silent auction at the upcoming Team Jack Trifecta event.
Additionally, Jaclyn herself donated, stating that “I personally wanted to donate because it is a great cause and because the man who started it all, came from the same place I did. Growing up, Rex always had a big heart and wanted to do more, not only for our community, but also for our peers. In his first annual Team Jack Trifecta, he has asked his former teammates (high school, college, and NFL) to help coach, and one of his former teammates is our very own BSN SPORTS employee, Kris Lott. I am excited that BSN SPORTS donated for their silent auction to help make an impact on the kids who have pediatric cancer.”
Last year, the foundation raised just over $400,000 and hopes to raise even more money this year!
Rex Burkhead stated that he is “Beyond excited to have the opportunity of spreading awareness for pediatric brain cancer in my hometown of Plano, TX! This rare disease needs so much more attention, treatment options, and funding for research. That is why I have made it my duty to bring it to the minds of the people in the place I grew up. These kids need your help, and this is an opportunity to make an impact on their lives. Please join me at Plano Senior High School on April 1st, to fight against pediatric brain cancer at our first Team Jack Trifecta!”
